1. You must send your valid U.S. passport. The passport must have at least 6 months of validity left, and have at least 2 blank visa pages. The Passport must also be signed. (Blank endorsement pages in your passport are not acceptable.)

2. If you are a former citizen of India, and are applying for a visa in an American passport for the first time, you must submit your Indian passport for cancellation and return. If you are a former citizen of India, and are applying for a visa in a new US passport booklet, you must submit a copy of the Indian visa in the old american passport.

If applying for a passport and an Indian visa with American Passport Express you will now need to wait to receive your finished passport to apply for your visa.

Photos must be 2x2, black and white, or color, with a white, or light background, and show a full, front view of your face. The photos must also be printed on photo quality paper, photos printed on normal paper will be rejected by the embassy.

Applicants must submit proof of residence/address while applying for the visa.
Photocopy of driver license or utility bill is acceptable.
