Three Easy Steps to Get Your Visa to Brazil.

Brazil business visas are issued based on your location. Please contact American Passport Express (1-800-455-5166) before proceeding with these instructions to confirm your jurisdiction.
A Business Visa is appropriate for the following reasons:
- 1. Scientists, professors, researchers, participants in cultural, technological or scientific missions. (Services provided must not be paid for by a corporation or other legal entity based in Brazil, except for wages for services rendered, with the submission of a receipt)
2. Scientists, technicians, researchers or volunteers under the umbrella of an international cooperation program
3. Interns and other unpaid trainees, bearers of scholarships receiving professional practice in Brazil
4. Exchange students
5. Technicians receiving training in the operation and maintenance of machinery or equipment produced in Brazil
6. Amateur athletes, under 21 year old, participating in training programs in Brazil.
- 7.Travelers with business purposes, such as attending meetings, except when the trip involves the provision of services of any nature in Brazil (in which case a Technical Visa is mandatory).

Collect and Prepare Visa Application Documents

A.
Valid U.S. Passport
|
You must send your valid U.S. passport. The passport must have at least 6 months of validity left, and have at least 1 blank visa page. (Blank endorsement pages in your passport are not acceptable.) |

B.
One passport photo
|
Photo must be 2x2, black and white, or color, with a white, or light background, and show a full, front view of your face. The photos must also be printed on photo quality paper. Photos printed on normal paper will be rejected by the embassy. Digital photos taken by the applicant are not accepted.

D.
Business letter
|
You are required to submit a business letter from the US company sponsoring your trip on company letterhead. Letter must be signed by a senior manager (vice president or above) briefly introducing the applicant and specifying the status/position of the employee in the company as well as giving a detailed explanation of the applicant's job. The letter must also clearly state the precise nature of the business to be conducted by applicant while in Brazil. This letter must be addressed to the Brazilian consulate, and have an original signature. Photo copies and faxes will not be accepted.
The employer or sponsoring company shall also specifically attest to each of the following statements:
- That the visa applicant will maintain his/her residency in the United States.
- That the visa applicant's trip to Brazil is of a short-term nature.
- That the goal of the visa applicant's trip to Brazil is strictly for business meetings not involving any technical assistance and not exceeding the legally authorized stay per visit.
- That the applicant has no intention to immigrate to Brazil.
- The applicant's specific assignment in Brazil.
- That the company will assume financial responsibility for the applicant while in Brazil.
- The name, position, and job description of the applicant's contact in Brazil.

E.
Invitation letter
|
You will need to submit a notarized business letter from the Brazilian company inviting the applicant to Brazil. This letter must clearly explain the purpose of the applicant's trip to Brazil. A faxed or photo copied version of this letter is acceptable. |

F.
Proof of departure
|
You will need to submit a copy of round trip airline tickets or itinerary showing round trip flight numbers and times, or a cruise itinerary showing round trip boarding information. Please make sure the following information is also included on any proof of departure documentation:
- Confirmed travel to Brazil within 90 days of submitting the visa application.
- The applicant's name.
- The date of entry into Brazil.
- The date of departure from Brazil.

G.
2 Business cards
|
Please provide 2 (two) business cards. These business cards should include your name, position within the company, the name of the company, as well as contact information for you at that company. |

H.
Copy of drivers license
|
Please provide a clear photocopy of your valid drivers license. Color copies are preferred, but black and white copies will also be accepted. Please make sure that the copy is clear enough so that all of the information can be easily read. |

I.
Yellow fever vaccination card
|
A yellow fever vaccination card is required for all applicants entering Brazil from any other South American country. It should be stapled into the passport you are sending with your visa application. It is recommended that all applicants supply a yellow fever vaccination card if possible.

J.
Processing fees
|
1. Consular Fees: This fee must be paid by US Postal Service money order made payable to the Embassy of Brazil. DO NOT SEND PERSONAL OR COMPANY CHECKS. Include your name and date of birth on the money order. Do not include your address on the money order. This fee can also be paid by credit card, using the customer information form in step #2 below.

- Yellow fever vaccination card if applicable.
- Payment for the consular fees, and service fees.
- The order confirmation page from the customer information form.
